The development engineers of Boehlerit have once again successfully improved the performance of the wiper turning
insert. The new HPT (High Performance Turning) geometry accelerates feed up to threefold. In addition, surface quality
can be improved by up to 75% compared to conventional turning inserts certified acc. to ISO.
The achievement of lower cutting forces through an exact alignment of the HPT smoothing cutting edge in the feed
direction along the work piece axis merits special mention as an exceptional innovation. Thanks to this unique technical
novelty, HPT can also be used for smaller diameters. All indexable HPT inserts are already equipped with the timetested
heat-dissipating Drytec surface and available in the new ISO P15 turning grade “Steeltec LC 215K” with the
first yellow Al2O3 ceramic protective coating.
