KING OF FEED

Together with Böhlerit-Austria, BÖHLER SERT MADEN now is a member of Leitz Metalworking Technology Group where internationally top-ranking companies in their sector have been combined. The collective strength of BÖHLERIT-FETTE-KIENINGER-ONSRUD-BILZ and BELIN offer our customers unmatched performance, technology, expertise, quality and service.

For machine producers and industries for mould &die, automotive, iron and steel, foundries, metal cutting, plastic, textile, etc., now we launch a very fast tool called KING OG FEED. Detailed information of this tool is given below:

Application Areas

When the inserts shown below are in use, cutting forces changes drastically and chip removal operation result in success with a smoother cut, less noise and better surface quality. How all these possible are:

Formulas used in milling operations:

N: Rotation (U/min)
Vf: Table feed(mm/min)
fz: Feed per tooth (mm)
D:Diameter of tool (mm)
Vc:Cutting speed (m/min)
z: Number of tooth
ae:Width of cut (mm)
P: Power (kW)
ap:Depth of cut (mm)
Q: Chip removal (cm3/min)
LF:Correction Factor (14 for tool steels)
h: chip thickness (mm)

Example 1:

D=66 mm, ae=40 mm, ap=1 mm, h=0,19 mm
When a milling head of 45 degree approach angle is in use: fz=0,35 mm
However: with KING OF FEED it is 1,28 mm. 3,65 times FASTER.

Example 2:

For a copying cutter with round inserts:
D=42 mm, ae=30 mm, ap=1,5 mm, Vc=200 mm/min, N=1500 rpm, fz=0,3 mm Vf=2250 mm/min, insert dia:10 mm, z=5 Q=101 cm3/min

However with a KING OF FEED
D=42 mm, ae=30 mm, ap=1 mm, Vc=200 mm/min N=1500 dd, fz=1,5 mm Vf=6750 mm/mm, z=3 Q=202 cm3/min Chip removal is doubled.

Example 3:

For a copying cutter with round inserts
D=66 mm, ae=40 mm, ap=3 mm, Vc=250 mm/min, N=1200 rpm, fz=0,34 mm Vf=2040 mm/min, insert dia::16 mm, z=5 Material:1.2344 (H13) Q=240 cm3/min

However with a KING OF FEED
D=42 mm, ae=25 mm, ap=1 mm, Vc=240 mm/min, N=1800 rpm fz=2,85 mm Vf=13.000 mm/min, z=3 35% more chips and tool life of the insert is 100 min.

Tool diameter for screw-on type tools changes between 20 and 42 mm. As shown by the figure above, depth of cut for this series of tools is maximum 3 mm. Tool diameter for milling heads changes between 42 and 46 mm. As shown by the figure below, depth of cut for this series of tools is maximum 1,5 mm.

For both types of tools, feed per tooth is given between 0,5 and 3 mm according to the material to be machined. Cutting data for two different insert grades –K10/P40- are given in detailed on the catalogue produced for this unique tool.
